Karam Daoud
Karam Daoud is a Moroccan-Canadian actor and filmmaker who moved from Morocco to Canada in 2012. Fluent in English, French and Arabic, she wants to share her view of the world through her writing and performances. As an Arab and Berber woman from Africa, she never sees characters she can easily identify with. Throughout her childhood and teenagehood, she made the mistake of letting the world tell her what it means to be a woman, but she now spends every day making up her own definition of it, with inspiration from numerous brilliant figures including her mother. She aspires to show that there is no “single story” that can pretend to fit all BIPOC lives, and to show that there are as many stories to be told as there are living things in this world. Through her work, Karam wants to contribute to filling this giant gap in cinema history.
Karam spends her free time dancing, reading, painting, drawing, playing the violin, playing the piano, and fighting a constant sense of impending doom. She also happens to be a big fan of (almost) all Final Fanatasy games, and cannot wait to fulfill her ultimate destiny of playing Sephiroth in a screen and stage adapation of the franchise.
